Our November Round Up is South Philadelphia Community Fridge
South Philly Community Fridge is a community-centered, volunteer-based organization dedicated to giving all Philadelphians access to fresh and healthy food, combating food insecurity and inequality in our city through mutual aid.
Studies show that nearly 1 in 5 Philadelphia families struggle with hunger, and food pantries' demand for fresh produce has increased 3x since 2019.
South Philly Community Fridge partners with local grocers and restaurants to stock this fridge with perfectly good produce, pantry staples, and prepared foods that would otherwise be thrown out.
Giving Back in the Season of Gratitude
This Thanksgiving season we are partnering with South Philly Community Fridge to donate turkeys and other holiday staples so everyone in our community can enjoy the holiday.
With the recent government shutdown many have lost SNAP and other benefits and we are standing by our mission statement of "Using Food as a Force for Good" and putting as many resources as we can into fighting food insecurity.
