Bakery

In 1992, two brothers created Philadelphia’s first artisan bread bakery. Using old-world techniques and all-natural ingredients, the baking team was committed to putting the flavor —and heart — back into bread.

Soon a number of national and local awards followed, and they were baking bread and rolls for the region's best restaurants and hotels.

Gaeta's has had a couple owners since then, and each owner has respectfully paid homage to the Scale Sisters and honored their family with the same tomato pies that generations have grown to love. Gaeta's commitment to the highest quality products, attention to detail, and a laser focus on customer satisfaction has laid the foundation for decades of spectacular Tomato Pies.

Back in 2013, Simply Ghee co-founders Nancy Rohrer and Bev Martin (aka The Ghee Gals) played with the idea of making ghee because residing in Lancaster County there was a plethora of dairy farms. Ghee was a best kept secret then. This nutrient-dense and healthy fat tasted so good the pull towards making ghee more mainstream to use in everyday cooking became clear. So in a very small shared kitchen, the first batch of 8 cases was made to sell at a local event and the rest is history. Often heard, “Why is your ghee taste so delicious compared to others I’ve tried?” The answer! It’s all about the butter. When you have only ONE ingredient, it must be the best!

The Honey Brook Harvest Collective was envisioned in 2014 as a partnership between several farmers in Honey Brook, PA and Philly Foodworks. Farmers were able to bring a diversity of products to a single location to have it aggregated and brought into the city. Eventually this hub grew to include more farmers, a larger range of products, and a greater emphasis on farmer needs. Honey Brook Harvest Collective supports their farmers in a myriad of ways, handling marketing, aggregation & logistics, consulting on growing practices, soil health, and quality standards. They connect them with the support they need while making sure they are able to run a sustainable business earning what they deserve.
