Perfect Pie Crust | Gluten-free Cooking Series

Join gluten-free cookbook author, blogger, and South Philly Food Co-op Member-Owner, Madeline Barry for an introductory lesson on making the perfect pie crust.

After finding Madeline's blog and scrumptious recipes and learning about her new cookbook (which will be hot off the press soon -- stay tuned for a special offer), we asked if she would do virtual cooking lesson as a fundraiser for us. To our delight she said "yes" so we hope you will join us to learn more about living a tasty and healthful gluten-free lifestyle.

Madeline says that her blog, "Swheat Escape is inspired by my desire to discover and share all the great things natural foods have to offer, and spruce them up with yummy ingredients. In doing so I’ve discovered how much fiber, protein, and other vital nutrients are in the foods we can obtain directly from the ground. This blog is still filled with all the guilty pleasures — sugar-coated, deep-fried goodness that us Celiac patients can’t just pick up anywhere. But I’ve expanded upon that to show that everyone can benefit from more whole grains and fewer “empty carbs.” 

Suggested Donation: $10 - $20. Sliding scale. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Everyone welcome!

Your donation will help the co-op recover from the financial impacts of Covid-19, and support the opening of our store and the launch of our Basics Box program prior to opening.
