Many of you know that I have recently been elected to the Board of Directors for the South Philly Food Co-op. I am inviting my friends and family to donate and help us reach our goal of opening the store in early 2020. While I am new to the Co-op, ensuring fresh, healthy food access for all is an issue I have been passionate about for many years. The South Philly Food Co-op will be a vital community food resource in the neighborhood where my husband, Dirk, and I and our soon-to-arrive baby live. After many years of community organizing, the Co-op is at the finish line – so very close to having the resources we need to stock, staff, and open our store. With your help, we can stay on track to open in the next several months.
