Join us Saturday, May 20 (rain date: May 21), from 2 to 5 p.m. for a new spin on our usual twice-yearly General Membership Meetings: We're hosting a block party outside the future home of the South Philly Food Co-op, on the 2000 block of Juniper Street!
Anyone and everyone is welcome to attend this special Capital Campaign Kick-off and General Membership Meeting -- regardless of whether you're a member-owner -- and admission is free.
We'd like to thank our sponsors, the Expressive Hand and Earthly Delights!
Here's what to expect:
- Voting: As is the case every spring, our members will be invited to cast their votes for new and returning members of our Board of Directors!
- Information: We'll have renderings of the store layout, updates on our newly hired architect, details on our brand-new Capital Campaign and more. If you want to get involved, now's a great time.
- Food: We've invited a few Philly food trucks to be on hand with savory and sweet treats (pay as you go). Tasty beverages will be available, too!
- Those "I'm a Member-Owner" posters: If you've been meaning to become a member of the Co-op, the block party is a great time to sign up! If you're willing, we'd love to photograph you holding an "I'm a Member-Owner" sign for posterity (and, let's be real, social media).
- Fun for the kiddos: In the form of a bounce house, because no South Philly block party would be complete without one.
- More fun stuff: We'll have merch for sale, temporary tattoo freebies, music and more!
